We are proud to be family owned and operated. Here you will find husband and wife team of Trond and Anna Johansson. Trond can be found handcrafting beautiful and unique pieces of jewellery at his workbench, which is the heart and soul of the store. He is backed up by Anna and an experienced team who are knowledgeable and always happy to discuss all things jewellery.
We specialise in engagement and wedding rings, timeless one off pieces of jewellery and with a special emphasis on the remaking of those passed down and sentimental pieces.
At Goldfields Jewellers, our experienced team can give you the advice and guidance you need to select the perfect item of jewellery. From a classic diamond ring to a sensational ruby or sapphire necklace, we have individual designs to suit a range of styles and budgets.
We also offer repair services for your most treasured pieces of jewellery.

Meet the Jeweller
Trond Johansson – Master Jeweller
Born in southern Sweden, to a Swedish father and Norwegian mother. The Middle brother of 3 boys.
He started at the Swedish Jewellers school in 1967. After graduating in 1970 as Jeweller, then as a Master Jeweller in 1973, he worked in Sweden until 1975 before leaving Sweden to discover the world by sailboat. Fast forward 3 years and he arrived by sail boat to Australia and as many have done before and since came to New Zealand for a holiday and never left.
After seven years as an employee he started his own wholesale business building a team of jewellers who worked for him. He designed his own ranges of jewellery and marketed them here in New Zealand and exporting to 15 countries around the world.
Trond would come to Queenstown for business and after his doctor suggested it was time he slowed down, he decided to get off the road, put down roots and move to this lovely place to live.
Here he meet his now wife Anna and together they bought Goldfields Jewellers from long time locals Dave and Judith Cleghorn. They settled into Queenstown life and raised daughter Grete and son Jack. And, the rest as they say, is history.
